A few days of fine weather are ahead of us so even though the ground is a bit on the wet side there are plenty of tasks that can be undertaken.
It is not too late to sow Mustard seeds in the Vegetable garden.
This will pay off in the Spring when the Nitrogen rich plant material can be dug into the ground to give a natural boost to next summer’s crops.
- Let the Mustard plant grow and before it flowers chop it down to ground level
- Allow it die off and then dig it into the soil
- This replaces the nitrogen in the soil that last year’s crop used to produce all those great salads that you enjoyed
Now is the time to prepare for next summer, so get stuck into your garden while the sun lasts.
